Episode 105 – We are Angry Parrot Men

November 21st, 2009 · No Comments

What do Parrot Men do? Not the same thing as Tiger Men, I can tell you that. For one, when we wear wings, they stay straight and fly right. Then again, you also won’t see the Tiger Men in need of a Stargate any time soon either.

This week it’s a bit of catch up and a bit of, well, a bit of oddness. As you know, the Tiger Men are gamers as well as comic reader and this week’s discussion blends the two quite successfully, if I do say so myself.

Listen in, and if you want to do some gaming while you do this Tiger Man recommends it. The level of nerdity in your immediate area may help use created a stable wormhole to our home planet. Really, screw those Stargates. We don’t need ‘em!

MORRISON AND VAN SCIVER ON WONDER WOMAN?

The latest rumor to spring from the DC grapevine: Grant Morrison and Ethan Van Sciver will be collaborating on a Wonder Woman project.  Crazy, but cool.

DARKSTALKERS IS BACK, BUT NOT IN THAT WAY

Sorry gaming fans, it’s coming to comics, not your console. Don’t fret too much, this Tiger Man is assuming it’s a lead up to the possibility of cross promotion.

SPIDER-WOMAN: AGENT OF SWORD ON HULU

Who woulda thunk it? Months before issue 5 is set to come out and when we thought we’d have to pay Marvel for it, at $1.99 a pop on iTunes. But for now, you can at least watch for free.

WHEDON AND PALS GET IN ON THE MOTION COMIC ACTION

It is an evolving medium, after all, so it only makes sense that Dark Horse is going back again to motion comics for new Buffy releases. You know what the first one was, more or less? The Mask, believe it or not.

HOLY CRAP DC CAN’T EVEN COVER PLOTS WHEN THEY’RE TRYING

Read these solicitations for February of 2010 at your own risk. It’s a minefield of redacted covers with plot points aplenty.

THOR CASTING APLENTY

Turns out Stuart Townsend (Robot Chicken, Queen of the Damned) will be playing Fandral, Tadanobu Asano (Mongol, various other Chinese films), will be Hogun and Ray Stevenson (Punisher: War Zone, Rome) is all about Volstagg. I wonder if Ray will put on any weight for the role?

HAWKMAN MUST NOT BE ALLOWED ON TV

Seriously, if you can’t make Hawkman look good in live action, then don’t put him on screen.  He looks like Angry Parrot Man here.
