This week, it’s all about second chances, in particular an interview with the writer of Uncharted 1 and 2 about his new book, A Second Chance with Sarah, Neil Druckmann.

It’s that time of year again, ladies and gentlemen. The Phobos Awards! What comics and creators caught our fancy? It took some time to dig through the last year’s stacks and pick the winners, but we made it. Somehow.

This being our third year of awards, it was interesting to look back and see what we thought of 2008 and 2007, and how those picks are reflected today. It’s funny to see that a Tiger Man’s stripes don’t change all too much, just as much as seeing so much new comic goodness within.

It’s the end of the season, which not only means that we’re getting into the middle of events (as usual), but we are also getting to announcement on top of announcement before the solicitations for next year really swing into gear! And do enters DC into the pre-con tease.

What do Parrot Men do? Not the same thing as Tiger Men, I can tell you that. For one, when we wear wings, they stay straight and fly right. Then again, you also won’t see the Tiger Men in need of a Stargate any time soon either.

This week it’s a bit of catch up and a bit of, well, a bit of oddness. As you know, the Tiger Men are gamers as well as comic reader and this week’s discussion blends the two quite successfully, if I do say so myself.

Listen in, and if you want to do some gaming while you do this Tiger Man recommends it. The level of nerdity in your immediate area may help use created a stable wormhole to our home planet. Really, screw those Stargates. We don’t need ‘em!

The Long Beach Comic Con came and went, Jeph Loeb teased us with “news” of some kind (damn you Loeb), we get more news on what DC is planning (and we postulate on what they may be doing ourselves) then it just gets crazy and we do our Tiger Men thing. In truth, we do that during the entire episode.

This Tiger Man just has one thing to say: if Loeb teases me about Nextwave one more time, I’ll find a way to hurt him. Or I’ll find a way to get Warren Ellis to hurt him. You heard me Loeb! I’m gonna sic an English whiskey drinking on you!

This time around, don’t be so shocked, it’s not as if we’re changing the basic history here, we’re just revamping the series for a modern audience.

Yes, we hear these words a lot. Sometimes we regret the final result, sometimes we find joy in the pieces that follow. In any case, the Tiger Men do NOT get remade, they merely evolve. Maybe one day to breathe the poisonous gasses of far away planets. Today will not be the day to test this theory.

Realistically, if anything, we’re now just going to start counting past 100 and keep on going far, far far into the future as we lay our stake in the comic podcast world, as well as plant a special flag, all our own, on Mars.

It was a weekend of games and nerdy goodness for the CoG crowd this year at PAX, but unfortunately for some, they came back with more than they left with. That’s right, they got the flu.

Convention cooties, nerd narcosis, what ever it is it means you feel like crap after spending a weekend rubbing elbows with a few thousands of your closest friends. But that doesn’t stop the Tiger Men! No sir! Well, we’re also not sick.
